Why Does a Culligan Expert Need to Come to My House?

Why Does a Culligan Expert Need to Come to My House?

Many people often ask us, “Well, why does a Culligan expert have to come to my house?” And there are a few really good reasons why we do at-home visits instead of over-the-phone consultations.

In-Home Water Test

There’s no way to tell what’s affecting your water just by simply talking about it — it needs to be tested.

As a licensed water treatment professional, your Culligan expert can perform a basic water test to analyze your water, and show you the results, right in your home.

If you have a specific water concern, your Culligan expert can also take a sample of your water to send off for more extensive testing at our EPA-certified lab, which typically provides results within five days.

Common Water Problem Diagnosis

Your local Culligan dealer is an expert on all things water. But not just any water — your water. Although many water problems, like hard water, are common across the United States, your water is unique.

To start, take a minute to think about your water. How would you describe it? We hear a lot about water that just doesn’t taste great — maybe it smells funny, too.

Here are just some of the common water problems we often hear about that you might be experiencing:

  • Unpleasant odor or taste.
  • Cloudy, discolored appearance.
  • Residue and buildup on fixtures.
  • Dry, itchy, or irritated skin.
  • Stiff, dingy laundry that wears out quickly.

While these water problems are plain to see, or feel, some others, like clogged pipes, increased water heating costs, and even accelerated wear and tear of your appliances, aren’t as obviously connected to problem water.

Uncovering Potentially Harmful Contaminants

Other contaminants, such as lead, arsenic, nitrates, and E. coli, are just a few examples of harmful contaminants that could be present in your water without your knowledge. Contaminants like lead and arsenic can lead to severe health complications from prolonged exposure, but do not give off any taste or odor to indicate their presence.

This is why it’s important to have your water tested by a professional, especially if you have a specific concern about your water quality.
