New Line of Reverse Osmosis Products Features Advanced Smart Controller Technology That Helps Companies Monitor Equipment Performance and Proactively Address Water Quality Issues
CHICAGO, IL – December 8, 2009 – Culligan, a leading global innovator of advanced filtration and water softening solutions for more than 70 years, unveiled a comprehensive new line of commercial and industrial reverse osmosis (RO) products as part of its new Culligan Matrix Solutions™ – which debuted earlier this year to provide greater flexibility, speed to market and cost savings to customers. As a water treatment and equipment partner to hundreds of companies around the world, Culligan’s products, services and support have helped organizations to eliminate costly water problems by extending the performance of their equipment, reducing maintenance costs and improving operational efficiency.
Cost-Effective Alternative to Traditional PLC Technology
As the newest addition to Culligan Matrix Solutions, Culligan’s new G Series is a family of RO membrane-based systems that offer customers a wide range of support based on their water capacity needs – from less than two gallons per minute (gpm) up to 200 gpm. This entire RO product line operates on Culligan’s exclusive advanced electronic controller technology. The proprietary Smart Controller monitors the performance of the equipment, stores historical operating data and proactively alerts customers of any issues with their systems or water quality. The Culligan Smart Controller is a reliable, easy-to-install-and-maintain, cost-effective alternative to traditional programmable logic controllers (PLC). It can operate independently or communicate directly with the customer’s control room equipment or building maintenance systems (BMS). The new Smart Controller also has
landline and cellular modem capabilities which allow Culligan and customers to monitor equipment in remote locations.
Using the G Series of RO products, commercial and industrial companies can eliminate up to 98 percent of dissolved minerals, particles and organics from their water for an array of applications, including: ice production/drinking water to improve taste and clarity; boilers/steam production to decrease scaling and maintenance; humidification to minimize scaling and dusting; misting to reduce scaling and extend equipment lifespan; pretreatment for high purity systems to lessen regeneration requirements; reclaim/recycling for water conservation; and washing and spot-free rinse.
A Wide Range of Product Choices to Meet Every Need
“From planning to installation, we help customers to assess their water treatment needs and size the proper RO solution based on their consumption rates, goals and applications. By selecting the G Series system that is properly configured to their requirements, companies get flexibility from us and can better control their installation costs and achieve operational efficiencies,” said Rod McNelly, Vice President Commercial & Industrial Sales, Culligan - North America.
Culligan’s G Series product line includes the G1 RO system, which is designed for customers needing less than two gpm of RO quality water; the G2 RO system for companies with capacity requirements of up to 13 gpm; and the G3 RO system for organizations with larger capacity requirements up to 200 gpm. The G2 Reverse Osmosis system is well suited to reduce energy and chemical consumption for boiler and cooling towers, as well as help companies with brackish water potabilization. The G3 Reverse Osmosis system meets the same application goals as the G1 and G2 RO systems, but is perfect for food companies mandating high quality water; heavy industrial manufacturing; power generation/co-generation; high purity ingredient mixing; beverage and fluid mixing; and cooling tower reuse.
